Are You Ready for a Handstand?

By Symon1 min read

Three handstands against the wall and on the floor in a gym

15 minutes · 6 tests · your result.

Do the exercises with me and keep track of which tasks you can complete. By the end, you’ll know where to start your handstand journey.

6 tests

  1. Scapular Push-up — 10 repetitions
  2. Bear Hold — hold the position for 20 seconds
  3. Bear Shoulder Tap — 20 taps — 10 with each hand
  4. Bear to Straight Legs — 10 repetitions
  5. Bear Straight Legs Shoulders in Front — 8 repetitions forward and back
  6. Bear to Chair Step Hold — hold for 15 seconds

Did you do it? +1 point.

Count how many points you scored

  • 6/6 — You completed this routine confidently. The next step is to move on to the next stages of handstand preparation.
  • 4–5/6 — You completed most of the tasks. Focus on the exercises you haven’t scored a point for yet.
  • 0–3/6 — Basic exercises are your starting point. Start with variations you can manage and gradually make them more challenging.

What’s next

Now you know which tasks you can complete and which ones still need work.

The next step is to understand what to train and in what order. In my full course, we’ll gradually work our way from basic positions to a handstand, with clear milestones for moving forward.
